Following the success of its previous editions, Journey to Japan returns for its highly anticipated IV Edition, once again hosted by Atelier Natalia Gromicho. This unique international exhibition celebrates the enduring artistic dialogue between Japan and Portugal, bringing together diverse creative voices in a shared exploration of culture, identity, tradition, and contemporary expression.
For the first time, the exhibition places a special focus on a curated group of Portuguese artists whose works will be presented alongside Japanese-inspired artistic perspectives, creating a rich intercultural exchange. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed-media works, visitors are invited to embark on a visual journey that highlights both the subtle beauty of Japanese aesthetics and the vibrant creativity of contemporary Portuguese art.
The selected Portuguese artists for this fourth edition are Ana Malta, Inês Prats, Joaquim Gromicho, Leonor Ribeiro, Mafalda Gonçalves, Mariana Santos, Natália Gromicho, Patricia Mariano, Pedro Charters, Rita Félix, and Tamara Alves. Each artist brings a distinctive artistic language, contributing to a collective narrative that celebrates diversity, artistic excellence, and cultural connection.
Hosted by Atelier Natalia Gromicho, a space dedicated to fostering artistic collaboration and international cultural exchange, Journey to Japan IV continues its mission of building meaningful bridges between artists, audiences, and traditions from different parts of the world.
