“Nippon” — Japanese Artists Exhibition in Lisbon

November 22–29 | Atelier Natália Gromicho | Chiado, Lisbon

Lisbon will host, starting November 22 at 5 p.m., the opening of “Nippon”, a collective exhibition of contemporary Japanese artists curated by EMP Gallery, and presented at the renowned Atelier Natália Gromicho, located in the historic Chiado district. The exhibition “Nippon” brings together works spanning a wide range of artistic disciplines — painting, calligraphy, poetry, photography, ceramics, and watercolor — showcasing the depth and diversity of Japanese artistic expression. More than an exhibition, Nippon is a dialogue between tradition and modernity, between restrained gesture and silent emotion. Each work reflects the harmony between nature and humanity, the delicacy of line, and the beauty of stillness — core values of Japanese aesthetics.
Curated by EMP Gallery, the project offers a visual and emotional journey that connects European audiences with the creative spirit of Japan, fostering an intercultural dialogue that transcends geographical and artistic boundaries.
After its presentation in Lisbon, Nippon will travel to Spain and other European destinations, continuing the EMP Gallery’s mission to promote and celebrate Japanese art on the international stage.
