Carsten Bund
I see myself as a traditional expressionist painter formed in Berlin during the 1980s. The work and teaching of Bernd Koberling—and the wider community around him—left a lasting imprint on my approach to gesture, color, and the physicality of materials. While painting remains my core discipline, I have explored digital art since the late 1980s and, today, extend that inquiry through AI model development. This technical practice is not a substitute for painting; it is a parallel method for probing structure, chance, and emergence. Across media, I pursue intensity and clarity: a distilled image that carries the weight of lived experience.
