The “Portugal Series“ evolved during my trip through this beautiful country between 2020 and 2022. The pictorial themes of my works develop completely autonomously, following neither conceptual ideas nor particular intentions. My visual intentions and color compositions are inspired by impressions and sensory perceptions. Hence my paintings develop out of an intrinsic emotional movement and a state of “not knowing”.

Originally from Dutch/German parentage, I live and work in Algarve, Portugal. From the 1980s to the present day my artistic career has spanned Fashion and Costume Design, Performance Art and Fine Art working in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza and now Portugal.

For over 20 years I facilitated Meditation classes in several European countries. This has directly influenced my approach to Art.
